Prostaff Physical Therapy offers comprehensive rehabilitation and support for patients with balance disorders. We believe the ability to control and maintain balance is an integral, ever-present part of daily life, even though we rarely give it a conscious thought. However, certain conditions can impair your sense of balance and contribute to falls.

Over 90 million adults and one third of people over the age of 65 experience dizziness or balance problems. The effects of aging are common causes of these problems, although injury and disease can also trigger balance disorders. Since falls and other balance related accidents are serious, and potentially fatal, it is important to properly diagnose and treat balance disorders.

Vestibular Rehabilitation is an alternative form of treatment for inner ear disorders. Controlled studies indicate physical therapy involving symptom-specific individualized exercises can reduce the severity of symptoms in patients with peripheral vestibular disorders and central vestibular disorders (i.e., migraine, trauma, vascular insufficiencies, and cerebella degeneration.)
